Photo by Carol Pandak Steven Dahlman is a professional photographer in downtown Chicago who specializes in architecture. His customers include architects, construction companies, interior designers, property managers, real estate developers, advertising agencies, television stations, magazines, newspapers, book publishers, hotels, restaurants, and a variety of other businesses.

He’s had two gallery exhibitions. His work has appeared in Architecture Minnesota, Landscape Architecture, Mpls St Paul, (Minneapolis) Star Tribune, Twin Cities Business Monthly, and other magazines, newspapers, annual reports, books, websites, and trade shows. One image was used in the background of a television news studio in the Twin Cities.

He is co-creator with Dr. Neal Samors of two books about Chicago, responsible for most of the modern-day images – Chicago’s River: At Work And At Play (Chicago’s Book Press, 2014) and Changing Chicago: A Portrait in Postcards and Photos (Chicago’s Book Press, 2017). His specialty is location photography, whether it’s a dangerous rooftop or comfortable condo. He can deliver high-quality images on a time/materials basis, with no extra charges that are based on usage.

Rates

$75 per hour for initial photography. $20 per image for digital production to get images into final form. Invoice will be sent on the 20th of the month for work performed during the previous 30 days. Terms are net 30 days.
